Fact-Checking Policy
Last updated: November 2026
Money and health decisions depend on correct facts. Here is how we check ours.
What we check
- Numbers: rates, limits, fees, thresholds, tax slabs and dates.
- Rules: laws, regulations and official guidelines.
- Claims about products, such as features, eligibility and charges.
- Statistics and quotes, traced back to the original source.
How we check
- Extract each factual claim from the draft.
- Compare it with an authoritative source, such as a regulator, government page or official provider document.
- Add the source to the article when it supports the claim.
- Soften, correct or remove anything we cannot confirm.
The “Fact-checked” badge
The badge on an article means the steps above were completed for that version of the article. It does not mean the information will never change. Check the “Updated” date.
